ABOUT THE OWNER
Michaela has 15 years working in healthcare. She started her journey by attending MTI College in Sacramento in 2009, after being laid off from her job in 2008 during the market crash. She enrolled in the Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy program. Upon completion of the Medical Assisting portion of the program, Michaela could not finish the phlebotomy portion because she was in need of a job as soon as possible. She started her first Medical Assistant position in 2010 working for a private Dermatology office in Downtown Sacramento for 2 years as a Medical Assistant. Michaela eventually landed her dream job at at a major hospital in 2012 in South Sacramento. After being there for a year, she transferred to Adult Family Medicine in Roseville, CA in 2013 and has been there most of her career. Michaela has been taking healthcare classes over the years and eventually wanted to change positions from a Medical Assistant and become a Certified Phlebotomist Tech I in 2020. She moved her way up as a Emergency Department Technician II with Phlebotomy in 2020. Ever since, she has had the passion in drawing blood even on the most difficult patients she could draw blood from.
In 2023, Michaela seen the number of older people with unmet care and support needs is increasing, a mobile phlebotomy service would be the answer for geriatric patients to get care at home, if they are bed bound or unable to drive. Substantially due to the challenges facing the formal and informal care system in the United States, addressing these unmet needs is becoming one of the urgent public health priorities. In order to develop effective solutions to address some of these needs, it is important first to understand the care and support needs of older people.Meet The Owner
